The reports in this section are based on Blood Lead Testing of Children in Iowa and Census data. The measure for Percent of Children Tested is based on birth cohort. The data is presented for all children born in Iowa by County in the listed Year and we're tested before 36 months of age. Using a birth cohort as the basis can result in percentages above 100 due to families moving across county lines.

Data for the 2000 estimates is from the 2000 US Census data, and Data for 2006 estimates is from the 2006 American Communities Survey.
