The R.J. McElroy Trust assists nonprofit charitable organizations (501(c)3) and governmental entities. The McElroy Trust partners with nonprofit and public organizations to create inspirational and transformational experiences for young people in northeastern Iowa. The Trust makes grants in the following areas in the state: Allamakee, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Floyd, Grundy, Howard, Tama, and Winneshiek counties. Since 2012, the McElroy Trust no longer accepts proposals from Benton, Franklin and Hardin counties. The McElroy Trust may only support programs, projects or endeavors that help young people. All organizations are asked to contact staff before applying. Applications are available annually and are due on: March 1; June 1; September 1; and December 1.
