The PeopleForBikes Community Grant Program provides funding for important and influential projects that leverage federal funding and build momentum for bicycling in communities across the U.S. These projects include bike paths and rail trails, as well as mountain bike trails, bike parks, BMX facilities, and large-scale bicycle advocacy initiatives.
Since 1999, they have awarded 272 grants to non-profit organizations and local governments in 49 states and the District of Columbia. Their investments total nearly $2.5 million and have leveraged $650 million in public and private funding.
PeopleForBikes generally holds 1-2 open grant cycles every year. They have moved to an online grant application system. Please see the Apply Now page for more information on the application process.
