Center for Disaster Operations and Response (CDOR)

The Center for Disaster Operations and Response (CDOR) is responsible for the development and implementation of emergency plans and operating procedures for the department while ensuring integration into Iowa's Homeland Security and Emergency Plan. CDOR's objective is to upgrade state and local public health and health care preparedness for and response to bioterrorism, infectious disease outbreaks, and other public health threats and emergencies. CDOR works through cooperative planning and participation with multiple agencies and emergency response partners as well as the private sector throughout Iowa. Additionally, CDOR is responsible for the department's Emergency Coordination Center (ECC), Continuity of Operation's Plan, Iowa Disaster Medical Assistance Teams (IA-DMAT), and the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).
