The Mentoring Collaborative Grant

This grant funds mentoring services for at-risk youth ages 11-18 in Appanoose and Lee Counties. Funded programs will provide services through a community-based or school-based mentoring structure. Programs will follow the "Elements of Effective Practice" established by the National Mentoring Partnership.

Objective:

  • To reduce youth substance abuse and crime rates through mentoring relationships
  • To create or expand quality youth programs in Appanoose and Lee Counties
  • To connect at-risk youth to caring adult mentors from a variety of backgrounds
  • To promote use of "Elements of Effective Practice" by youth mentoring programs

Current funding period:

RFP 2010-2012 with annual contracts and two mentoring programs currently receive this funding
