State approved protocols for all levels of service authorization and the the approved trauma transfer protocols are available here.
The Quality Assurance, Standards and Protocols (QASP) subcommittee of the Iowa EMS Advisory Council (EMSAC) is working on reformatting the Iowa EMS protocols updating the document to make it more concise and user friendly for local editing. Due to the work of the QASP subcommittee, the next posting of state protocols will occur following the January 12, 2011 meeting. Protocol updates, thereafter, will take place at the beginning of each calendar year. Your suggestions for protocol improvements are always welcome and can be submitted to the QASP subcommittee members or your bureau field staff.
