Child Care Businesses

The Iowa Department of Public Health and Iowa Department of Human Services have developed the following recommendations and resources for child care businesses in Iowa to use as they prepare for novel influenza A (H1N1).

• Novel Influenza A (H1N1) Recommendations for Child Care Businesses.  
  Gives instructions on signs of influenza and what you can do to prevent the spread of illness at your child care business.
• Environmental Cleaning and Disinfection Fact Sheet for Child Care Businesses  
  Gives guidance on how to clean, sanitize or disinfect items within your child care center or home.
• Sample Parent Letter  
  Sample letter you may post or copy to share with the families you serve. The letter tells the signs of influenza, and instructs parent to keep sick children home.
• How to Read and Take a Temperature
