The ACCESS Update was initiated on December 30, 2008. It is a bi-monthly electronic newspaper published by the Iowa Department of Public Health's Bureau of Health Care Access. It is distributed via email on the last Tuesday of the month. The ACCESS Update provides news, calendar of events, and useful grant related information for health care professionals, hospitals, clinics and other health care related organizations and groups. There are numerous resources and tools to assist with program development, and community engagement. The newsletter captures the issues and challenges related to ACCESS to healthcare.
