Dental Care for Persons with Disabilities

Low-income and young adults through age 21 with special health care needs are eligible to be served by this program, which pays for limited dental care. To qualify for the program, a child cannot be eligible for Medicaid (Title XIX), must be uninsured for dental services, and must meet the family income guidelines established by Iowa's Title XXI program.

This program is jointly sponsored by the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and the Iowa Department of Public Health. Services are provided at the Center for Disabilities and Development and the University of Iowa pediatric dental clinic, as well as at sites in 27 dental offices in Iowa, within the towns of Ames, Bellevue, Carroll, Council Bluffs, Creston, Des Moines, Dubuque, Iowa City, Laurens, Maquoketa, Marion, Marshalltown, Mason City, Monticello, Monona, Pella, Sioux Center, Sioux City, Spirit Lake, Story City, Waterloo, Waukon, and West Burlington.
