Iowa Board of Dietetics

The Iowa Board of Dietetics is staffed by a Board Executive and a Secretary in the Bureau of Professional Licensure, Iowa Department of Public Health.

The Board is made up of one licensed dietitian representing the approved or accredited dietetic education programs, one licensed dietitian representing clinical dietetics in hospitals, one licensed dietitian representing community nutrition services and two members who are not licensed dietitians and who shall represent the general public.

Board members:

• serve three-year terms (unless filling an unexpired term),
• appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate,
• serve no more than nine years (three full terms).
