The internship program within the Office of Multicultural Health is designed for undergraduate and graduate students. PhD students may contact the office for special and independent studies projects. The internship is an agency-based learning opportunity provided to enhance the student's understanding of his/her field of study in the context of health issues of Iowa's diverse populations. The internship provides an opportunity for a student to come face to face with health disparities and the challenges and successes they present in planning and programming.
The internship is also intended to enhance professional competencies. While the internship provides important insights and hands-on experiences that encompass various facets of the professional health arena, it does so by fulfilling academic requirements and student interests. Specific expectations and program assignments are provided to students once they are accepted.
